William Boericke, MD, translator. (1921, US). Hahnemann’s most advanced work - fifty millesimal potencies. Hahnemann believed the 6th edition was "the most nearly perfect of all". It contains important changes from the 5th edition, which were unknown during Kent's lifetime, such as advising repetition of doses in slowly increasing potencies, rather than the single dose.
The sixth edition of the "Organon" as left by Hahnemann ready for publication, was found to be an interleaved copy of the fifth, the last German Edition, published in 1833. In his eighty-sixth year, while in active practice in Paris, he completed the thorough revision of it by carefully going over paragraph by paragraph, making changes, erasures, annotations and additions.
The book in this sixth edition is of the greatest interest and importance, completing as it does the marvelous array of Hahnemann's philosophic insight into the practice of medicine. Hahnemann's "Organon" is the high water mark of medical philosophy, the practical interpretation of which produces a veritable mountains of light and will guide the physician by means of the Law of Cure to a new world of therapeutics.
The Organon developed slowly out of Hahnemanns research and experimentation over a period of time. It underwent as many as six editions. This sixth edition incorporates the latest findings of Dr Hahnemann during his dying years and deemed to be the most perfect of all. Many newer concepts like replacement of the vital force by vital principle, the 50 millesimal scale of potency and permissibility of external applications were introduced for the first time that were unheard of in the other editions. The work is a result of the untiring efforts of the master to improve and update his work and is of historical importance as far as medical philosophy is concerned. High on philosophy, Footnotes explaining difficult concepts, Evolution of medical science reinstated
